The Federation University East Gippsland Business Awards, brought to you by East Gippsland Shire Council, are entering their tenth year in 2021 and we look forward to re-establishing this event and celebrating the success stories across our region whilst acknowledging the challenges faced in the last year and a half.
The East Gippsland Business Awards has been previously coordinated and delivered by Business and Tourism East Gippsland (BTEG) for the past nine years with funding from Council. BTEG wound up its operations on 30 June 2020 and, due to Covid-19 restrictions and the ongoing bushfire recovery work, the awards were not held in 2020.
The awards provide a valuable opportunity to showcase excellence and best practice in local business. The awards return in 2021 with a new award, Business Excellence for Adaptability & Innovation, in recognition of the difficult times, allowing us to put the spotlight on the businesses in our region that found themselves in the midst of change, first from drought, bushfires, followed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
For applicants, the awards process provides an opportunity to review and evaluate their business and to submit their business into a recognised and respected category award. The judging process results in feedback and shared discussion on the merits of business modelling, innovation and the competitive edge. Our 2021 judge, Anthony Turner, has a passion for helping business owners and individuals ‘achieve their best’ in both life and business. Anthony is a business mentor, writer, podcast presenter and advocate for small business. Read more about Anthony here.
For sponsors, the awards provide a valuable opportunity to showcase their business and demonstrate their support for the East Gippsland business community.
The Winners Presentation, held in November, not only provides an excellent opportunity to recognise the finalists in each category and promote the winners, but also provides a great social occasion and a valuable networking opportunity for all attendees.
